The greatest hiatus in anime history has finally fractured! Dust off your Nen abilities, because the king is officially back on his throne!
The agonizing wait is over, anime community! Issue #30 of Weekly Shonen Jump has officially broken the silence and sent shockwaves through the global fandom. Hunter x Hunter is officially resuming serialization next week on June 29, 2026! After an intense 18-month long hiatus following the release of Chapter 410 in December 2024, legendary creator Yoshihiro Togashi is breaking his silence with Chapter 411.
To make this comeback even sweeter, Shueisha dropped a stunning, eerie promotional trailer to reignite the hype machine, and Volume 39 is officially hitting shelves on July 3, 2026! The hype is absolutely unreal!
The Facts: The War Aboard the Black Whale Ignites!
Chapter 411 will pick up exactly where the story left off, plunging us straight back into the psychological masterpiece that is the Succession Contest arc.
The new promotional trailer gives fans a tense, thrilling refresher of the brutal political intrigue and deadly psychological warfare taking place aboard the Black Whale ship.
Expect the story to put a massive visual focus back on Kurapika and his temporary allies as they navigate a terrifying web of complex Nen abilities, shifting royal alliances, and brutal assassinations among the Kakin Princes!
Togashi Has Been Secretly Cooking!
While fans are used to getting just 10 chapters before the manga goes back to sleep, the numbers behind this 2026 return look incredibly promising:
20+ Chapters Ahead: Togashi's transparent updates on his official X (Twitter) account show that he has already completed inking up to Chapter 431 as of mid-June!
Volume 39 Arrival: Titled "Negotiation", the physical Volume 39 drops on July 3rd, compiling chapters 401 through 410, giving fans the perfect material to catch up on the physical release.
Kurapika Is Heading Toward a Devastating Ultimate Sacrifice! ⛓️💀
With Togashi working further ahead than he has in nearly a decade, my absolute prediction is that this serialization run is going to give us the final, catastrophic climax of Kurapika’s journey.
The Succession Contest arc has been building an unbearable amount of tension, but look at the clues: Kurapika’s Emperor Time ability literally drains his actual life force every single second it remains active.
He is surrounded by enemies, isolated on a ship in the middle of a dark ocean, and completely blinded by his obsession with retrieving the scarlet eyes of his fallen clan.
My theory is that this upcoming batch of chapters will force Kurapika into a corner where he has to burn through years of his own life expectancy to protect Prince Oito and the baby Woble. Togashi didn't build this complex, heavily restricted system for no reason—we are about to witness the absolute breaking point of the Kurapika character, and it is going to leave the entire fandom emotionally devastated. He is setting up a tragic masterpiece, and we aren't ready for it!
June 29th cannot get here fast enough. Make sure your Shonen Jump app is downloaded, because history is being made next week!
